Now Showing - Ghost in the Shell (2017)

Hello and welcome to another episode of Now Showing, the podcast where I take a single film and review it without all the other bells and whistles of our normal show. For this episode I review the big budget Hollywood live action remake of the classic anime Ghost in the Shell. Is all the controversy surrounding the whitewashed casting deserved? Does it taint the legacy of the 1995 original or does it do it justice? Join me as I give you know my thoughts on the new film.

Be sure to visit our Youtube channels at Gaming with Dweavis and Madcap888 to see what we have been playing and listen to the latest Bits and Flicks podcasts along with finding subscription links after the break.

That Film Podcast - "That movie was kinda deep"

2 years ago we got a franchise reboot nobody wanted or had asked for, but in a surprise turn of events it turned out to be one of the best films released that year. Now we are faced with a sequel to the film nobody wanted and once again we find ourselves with a film that is much better than it has any right to be. Hear our review for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and my review for the new Richard Linklater film "Boyhood" on this weeks episode of That Film Podcast. That Film Podcast - "My Face Is My Warrant!"

This week we are all about Transformers: Age of Extinction and boy are we hurtin. The only thing that goes extinct are our braincells. Michael Bay's latest big robots opus has us pleading for mercy and you get to hear every second of it. Sadly you won't see every moment of it as our video this week was the victim of some unfortunate technical difficulties that could not be fixed. But rest assured that you still have plenty to listen to. Remember to subscribe to the show and the Youtube channel to get updates when they are posted. Also, no timecodes again this week, sorry. I promise to be more on the ball with that next week, just bear with me on this one, thanks and enjoy!

That Film Podcast - "You're such a liar!"

This past week or so has been pretty harsh on me here, the sole person who does the editing and posting for our show, so please excuse the late postings for both the audio and video. Hopefully I can get things back on track next week when we take our little mini vacation from the movies. But as far as this episode goes, we have a couple of sequels to go over that surprisingly are better than both their predecessors. Find out what we had to say about both "22 Jump Street" and "How to Train Your Dragon 2" as well as a whole lot of Game of Thrones talk about the finale. Remember to subscribe to the show through itunes and visit us on Youtube at That Film Podcast. No episode time code this week folks, sorry.

That Film Podcast - "The Luge"

After finishing up another round of Game of Thrones talk we delve right into our review for the new Tom Cruise Sci-fi action flick, Edge of Tomorrow. Despite almost no one else seeing the film on opening weekend, all three of us found the film to be much better than expected and not at all the action flick it was advertised as. That Film Podcast - "Boy Crush"

This week we travel to our past to save our future in the latest film from writer/director Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days of Future Past. While our opinions on it range all over the place, we all seem to agree that this new film, which is actually a reboot of the entire franchise, is better than we expected despite having some glaring flaws. I give my two cents on the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore comedy Blended and then we discuss the latest reshuffling going on over at Marvel this past week.. That Film Podcast - "Holy Bible, Lord of the Rings Edition"

Hey all, welcome back for our second episode of That Film Podcast. This week we review two films that have are making headlines, one for being amazing and the other for being blasphemous. Our first film up is The Raid 2 with both Brian and myself lavishing heaping amounts of praise upon it while James does his laundry. Then next we have the biblical epic Noah which isn't the film most were expecting and neither is our differing opinions on its many alterations to the story.
